Ball State University’s WIPB-TV wins Television Awards for Echoes of War: Stories from the Big Red One produced in partnership with the Cantigny First Division Foundation

Ball State University and the Cantigny First Division Foundation were notified on March 10, 2008, that their joint project Echoes of War: Stories of the Big Red One, which aired on September 27, 2007, was the recipient of two Silver Telly Awards. The Telly Awards honor the very best local, regional, and cable television commercials and programs, as well as the finest video and film productions, and work created for the Web. The program won in two categories, the Education category and Live Events category. Echoes of War: Stories from the Big Red One, a digital media experience and live broadcast held at the First Division Museum at Cantigny, in Wheaton, IL, tells the story of the Big Red One, the famed First Infantry Division and told personal stories of World War II veterans. The Cantigny First Division Foundation promotes public learning about America’s military heritage and affairs, as well as honors and remembers the Big Red One—the famed 1st Infantry Division of the U.S. Army. The foundation chronicles and preserves the Big Red One’s illustrious and courageous contributions, as well as conduct public outreach through the Cantigny First Division Museum, Robert R. McCormick Research Center, the Cantigny Military History Series and its monthly Date with History series. The First Division Museum is located on the grounds of Cantigny Park, in Wheaton, Illinois, the estate of Robert R. McCormick, publisher of the Chicago Tribune and a World War I veteran.
