WHAT:
|
Got a message for the next president? The McCormick Freedom Museum
welcomes celebrated artist Sheryl Oring and her project I Wish to Say, Letters to
the New President. Crisscrossing the country just like Obama, Clinton and
McCain, Oring is gathering messages for the next president the old-fashioned
way by manually typing the public missives using a vintage typewriter. In
January 2009, Oring will deliver these messages to the 44th president. The
project promises to capture a unique snapshot of public opinion during a period
of heightened political passions.
In November 2008, the Freedom Museum will be featuring the collected
dictations in a temporary exhibit.
