THE McCORMICK FREEDOM MUSEUM OFFERS A TASTE OF FREEDOM WITH DINNER SERIES

Table of Nations Combines Cuisine and Conversation on Freedom

WHEN: Wednesday, July 9, 2008
6-8pm
WHERE: Emilio’s Tapas, Sol y Nieve
215 E. Ohio
Chicago, IL
WHAT: The Freedom Museum’s Table of Nations is a quarterly series that expands minds and palates through stimulating conversations on freedom issues in select countries. Traditional fare from each country complements the event.

This month the Freedom Museum shifts its focus to Spain, a country at the crossroads of history. For decades, the struggle for autonomy in the Basque region of Northern Spain has been marked by violence and terrorism. As a vote regarding such political independence approaches this fall, the Freedom Museum serves up a thought-provoking program that analyzes the likelihood that this initiative will be passed and what its adoption will mean for Spain and the European Union.

Guest Speaker:
Ambassador Javier Rupérez, Consul General of Spain for the Chicago Consulate.
