WHEATON, IL, September 21, 2009
Final plans are in place for the Cantigny Green Fair on Saturday, Sept. 26, from 10 am to 4 pm. Cantigny Park, part of the McCormick Foundation, and SCARCE are hosting the first-time event in partnership with Whole Foods and DuPage County.

The family-friendly attractions will emphasize the practical value of being environmentally responsible in our everyday lives.

“This will not only be a fun event, it will be as relevant as you can get,” said Laura Evans, Cantigny director of visitor services.

The fair will be conducted in a “green” fashion, expanding on Cantigny’s own environmental best practices. Cantigny Park and Cantigny Golf are committed to continuous improvement in such areas as water conservation, composting, waste recycling and reduced pesticide use. In addition, visitors who enter the park on foot or bike are rewarded with free admission, and Cantigny Golf encourages players to walk.
