Chicago Blackhawks Community Fund

The Chicago Blackhawks Community Fund, a fund of the Robert R. McCormick Foundation, is committed to helping Chicagoans by supporting nonprofit organizations with programs that transition low-income youth, children and families to achieving self-sufficiency.

History

Since 2010, more than $7.8 million in grants has been distributed through the Chicago Blackhawks Community Fund, a McCormick Foundation Fund improving the lives of those in need and transforming the community.

Issue Areas

The Chicago Blackhawks Community Fund supports K-12 education. Priority is given to established 501(c)3 agency-based programs that address one of two key transition points: successful transition from middle to high school or successful transition from high school to college/university.

McCormick Match

The McCormick Foundation matches all donations to the Chicago Blackhawks Community Fund at fifty cents on the dollar. With the Chicago Blackhawks and the Foundation paying all campaign and administrative expenses, one hundred percent of all donations, plus the match is granted to qualified nonprofit organizations.

The McCormick Foundation does not make grants to programs that would financially benefit the Chicago Blackhawks.
