About the Dashboard

Chicago is a city of diverse communities and neighborhoods with significant differences in their demographics, health and safety, economic vitality, and educational outcomes.

The McCormick Foundation has, in partnership with DataMade, worked to organize data from public sources by neighborhood ward, and school board district to allow users to see the data in the context of other communities, the city as a whole, and spot trends across the years. highlight these differences and trends across years. This interactive analytics platform is intended to help us and our partners improve outcomes in under-resourced communities to help create a more vibrant city for all.

How We Use Data

The Robert R. McCormick Foundation uses data to make informed choices and measure impact. We collect and analyze information to support our partners and hold ourselves accountable to creating lasting, positive impact through our investments.

Our community partners use data that is specific to their neighborhoods and their priorities to achieve their goals. To support their work, we have commissioned a dashboard that pulls data from a range of sources and creates a single destination with key educational and economic statistics.

We share our data sources above to support other efforts to build thriving communities and spark collaboration.
