Chicago has always been a city of diverse communities and neighborhoods. Now the differences in the demographics, health and safety, economic vitality, and education between communities has never been greater.
The McCormick Foundation has compiled available data by community to highlight these differences and trends across years. The data is from available public sources for any organization focused on creating more opportunity and better outcomes for those under-resourced communities that strive to thrive like Chicago’s more fortunate communities to help create a more fair and vibrant city for us all.
How We Use Data
The Robert R. McCormick Foundation uses data to make informed choices and measure impact. We collect and analyze information to support our partners and hold ourselves accountable to creating lasting, positive impact through our investments.
Our community partners use data that is specific to their neighborhoods and their priorities to achieve their goals. To support their work, we have commissioned a dashboard that pulls data from a range of sources and creates a single destination with key educational and economic statistics.
We share our data sources below to support other efforts to build thriving communities and spark collaboration.
Chicago Community Dashboard
