Chicago Sports Alliance

The McCormick Foundation works with the Chicago Bears, the Chicago Blackhawks, the Chicago Bulls, the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago White Sox to lend their reach and resources in support of data-driven solutions to decrease gun violence in Chicago.

History

Working collectively as the Chicago Sports Alliance, $4 million in grants have been invested in innovative solutions informed by the research and analysis of the University of Chicago Crime Lab. An additional $1.5 million in matching grants from the McCormick Foundation has also been provided since 2019, for a total of $5.5 million in funding. 

Issue Areas

Grants have supported C2C, Little Village Prevention and Intervention Initiative, READI Chicago, the University of Chicago Crime Lab and analyst training by the Crime Lab for the Chicago Police Department’s Strategic Decision Support Centers. 

McCormick Match

The McCormick Foundation matches donations from the Chicago Sports Alliance. With the Foundation paying all campaign and administrative expenses, one hundred percent of all donations, plus the match is granted to qualified nonprofit organizations.

Chicago Sports Alliance Grants
